EU cosmetic rules include prohibited and restricted substances. Nail gels often contain acrylates, methacrylates, photoinitiators, pigments and other ingredients that must be reviewed.
TPO, Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide, CAS 75980-60-8, is prohibited in EU cosmetic products from 1 September 2025. HEMA and Di-HEMA Trimethylhexyl Dicarbamate are restricted and require appropriate warnings and professional-use context where applicable.
